Further Discussion: How to make the Gradebook fit for the 21st Century?!

Hi everyone!

On the first day of the BarCamp we had a very exciting discussion about the Gradebook in room "Panasonic".

During the DevCamp of the MoodleMoot DACH 2019 we already worked on how the "Gradebook" in Moodle should look like and how it should work, to simplify its functions and to be able to fulfill the current needs of the users.

But now we need further insights,

WE NEED YOUR OPINION!

During our session we asked the audience to ask question to this topic, and now

we invite you to answer the following questions too (by posting a comment in the forum)

  • What do you mostly use the gradebook for?

(eg. viewing grades / changing grades / changing gradebook setup)

  • Which of the existing reports do you or your users actually use?
Right now there is a lot of sub-pages in the gradebook navigation, and we want to replace/unify/eliminate functions to make navigation easier.

FYI:
  • You can add some screenshots too.
  • If you use the gradebook for different roles (admin, teacher, student...), don’t hesitate to answer the questions for all of them.

Thank you and cheers,
the working group of "The GRADESTreport"

one thing that is related to the gradebook and that i was talking about with some people at the MOOT:

i made a small patch to make grade item mappings automatic when importing grades - unfortunately it was not incorporated into Moodle yet, but if you want you can already use it as we have been for over a year, instructions are included in the tracker issue:

there is actually an even older MDL that is still not incorporated into core that does the same thing for .csv import:
