Demo of MoodleBox and presentation of its challenges (presentation attached). A great discussion with topics such as:
- how to make the MoodleBox easier to use for the typical teacher
- Install popular and sustainable plugins (e.g. those installed on MoodleCloud) into the MoodleBox
- Provide the source (zip) of other selected plugins in the MoodleBox (which ones?)
- the limitation of Raspberry hardware
- 20 wireless clients is not enough! -> use an external dongle supporting Access Point features
- No real time chip -> install one (look for instructions in https://discuss.moodlebox.net/)
- No UPS -> install one, eg. PiJuice (supported out of the box by MoodleBox)
- Put the Raspberry into a dust and humidity proof cas
- etc.
- technical challenges
- How to support several 100s of wireless dongles?
And the BIG question: how to synchronize several Moodle instances (eg. MoodleBoxes) with a central Moodle instance, in both directions. On participant from Wien told that their company has a solution for this problem, but not published yet.
