At the moment it is not possible to import course settings to another course (description, course image, some defined values etc.).
To give teachers more flexibility with the import, I would like to pitch this at the DevCamp:
- include data of course settings in the import
- add a setting during the import workflow to choose whether to include/ exclude course settings
- add a setting in the website administration to define the default value of this setting
- nice-2-have/ further work: add settings in the website administration to define, which values/ category of values of the course settings should be part of an import (to be able to adapt it for special needs of someone's Moodle)
Furthermore this changes should be added to backup and restore in the longterm too.
Further information: There already was an issue in Moodle tracker concerning the current behaviour with the import/backup/restore of course image, but it finally was closed without any changes (https://moodle.atlassian.net/browse/MDL-79492).
