How to && What to pitch…

How to && What to pitch…

In order to have a great and efficient DevCamp, we are trying to give you as much space and autonomy as possible, but we also want to have some kind of a "plan" for what should happen … so here you go …

Upfront, we have to mention that it definitely is a DevCamp, aka Hackathon; therefore, the main part of the DevCamp is all about coding. Which doesn't mean that each team doesn't need a decent tester or UX designer for mockups or stuff like that.

BUT the main part is definitely writing code, and therefore participants will have to come up with amazing and cool ideas, which all of you will be able to work on.

The DevCamp is a 2-day all-hands-on-deck event, which means that the teams will be created on Tuesday and participants will be working in those teams until Wednesday afternoon. In order to give the teams a full 2-day experience, the registration for the DevCamp - as you already noticed - is only possible if you register for the whole 2 days of the DevCamp.

Pitching your ideas!

The main part that you can prepare already upfront is the pitching session, which involves brainstorming some cool ideas.
Please pitch each idea in a separate post, so that we can keep a better overview of all the exciting incoming ideas.

Try to think of something that

  • would be useful for the community
  • you would be able to finish in 1-2 days
  • is original
  • you would be able to make user-friendly (UX)
  • follows the Moodle Coding Guidelines
  • doesn't exist yet

In future posts, we will be following up on some further details for the Moodle DevCamp, … and some surprises we have for you.

Note: If you are not a DevCamp attendee but still want to attend the final project presentation on Wednesday 6 pm, you can do that without registering for the DevCamp. Please be aware that only DevCamp participants will be able to vote for the teams and the winning projects.

Anything you want to share?

If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to share them with us here.

I wish you a great day, and I am looking forward to our MoodleMoot DACH DevCamp in Zurich.

Stay tuned & curious 🤓

Hi Kasia,

I received the notification mail from your and other posts on this forum marked as SPAM. Nevertheless they got through to my mailbox. Just wanted to let you know in case others might not see the mails if they get filtered out.

Se you in Zurich!

Hi Harald,

Thanks for reporting this. We will investigate if we can do anything to resolve or at least reduce the problem.

Best regards,

Dear Moodlers,

eDaktik did a short research for us and it turned out that a couple of posts in former years might have triggerd the spam filter of several organizations to block our e-mail account. So we will send an e-mail to all attendees of MootDACH 2026 asking them to unblock our e-mail so they receive all the news around MootDACH 2026.

Best regards,

Antonia for the MootDACH Orga-Team
