Dear Moodlers,

MootDACH26 is almost here, and we can’t wait to welcome you to Zurich!  🎉

Here are a few final travel tips to help you get ready:

💸 Currency and payment: Switzerland uses Swiss Francs (CHF). Euros are usually not accepted, but card payments are widely possible. ATMs accept most international cards.

🚋 Public transport in Zurich: Zurich has an excellent public transport network, operated by the Zürcher Verkehrsverbund, ZVV. If you travel more than once per day, a 24-hour ticket for Zurich city, zone 110, is worth it. Tickets can be purchased at ticket machines at the stops or via the ZVV app:

🎒 What to pack

  • 🚰 A reusable water bottle: Swiss tap water is safe to drink and tastes good. You will find many places to refill your bottle — good for you and better for the environment!
  •  🔌  A travel adapter: Switzerland uses its own plug type, so please remember to bring a suitable adapter for your devices.
  • 🩱 A swimsuit: Zurich’s lake and river are perfect for a summer swim.
  •  🪪 Your passport or ID card: Your passport or ID card — Switzerland is in Europe, but not in the EU 😉
