Gestaltungsoptionen in TinyMCE | Design options for TinyMCE

Hallo zusammen,

Verena

Hello everybody,

neither the old Atto Editor nor TinyMCE come with options for formatting text in an appealing way. However, there are now various plugins that allow you to use predefined and/or self-created design templates in TinyMCE. As far as I know, there is currently no comparative overview of these plugins. Such an overview would be helpful when selecting plugins for your Moodle installation.

I'd like to suggest to create such an overview together. In addition to the people who'd like to participate, it would require:

  • a list of plugins with design elements
  • evaluation criteria
  • experience with the individual plugins

For 1, I will start by listing the plugins that I have come across:

Hi Verena,

many thanks for pitching this session.

As maintainer of atto_styles, I appreciate any discussion and idea sharing about this topic.
While atto_styles is a plugin of Moodle an Hochschulen, there wasn't any plan and budget to port it over to the Tiny editor.

Over the last months, I was in contact with AMC who proposed to build a Tiny version of tiny_styles which has been published as Beta recently. Moodle an Hochschulen has now marked atto_styles as end-of-life and links to AMC's tiny_styles as possible successor.

I am somehow surprised to read that Eledia has developed another successor and am, of course, interested to test-drive that plugin as well.

As an addition, I have heard from Nadav Kavalerchik some days ago that they have also build a Tiny Styles plugin. He will be at the conference and maybe can show it as well.

Cheers,
Alex

Hi,
thank you for pitching this idea.

I'm responsible for tiny_styles at the AMC and I would also be interested in this session too. sourire
Teaser: I plan a demo session of our new plugin at the BarCamp (more info to follow).

Cheers,
Martin

Hi Alex, hi Martin,

propably AMC and we had the same idea at the same time for a kind of atto styles succesor? I only recently read about AMC tiny styles on atto styles github site. Our plugin was supposed to be finished already in march but as so often it took a while longer. I already compared both plugins and found some similarities and difference that I'm happy to share in the session.

Since today, Tiny Eledia Styles is available on Github: https://github.com/eledia/tiny_elediastyles/tree/v_45/lib/editor/tiny/plugins/elediastyles 🎉. Feel free to use & test it! A release in the plugin repository is planned. We are happy that Eledia will maintain the plugin in the future since that goes beyond our capabilities as a project.
